AVANTGARD

Avantgard

Genre(s): Power Metal

Formed in São Paulo, São Paulo - 2002. Formed in 2002, Avantgarde tries not to hold the bonds or labels. His music has many influences, among them classic bands like The Beatles, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Savatage, The Who and Queen especially. In all such influences mainly shows the inclination of the operating band for the rock. In his songs we find a significant amount of drama, combined with always an important concern for the entertainment. The demo EP The Sound Of Reason was produced by Felipe Andreoli, bassist of the band Angra, and with the participation of musicians as Kiko Loureiro (Angra), Mauro Chevis (Firesign) and Philip's own. The recordings were made in the years 2003 and 2004, the Gasoline Studios. We recorded the songs The Sound Of Reason, Losing My Wings, The One, Chains Of Faith and Induced Sleep. With the demo The Sound Of Reason, the Avantgarde got an excellent effect. In July 2005 the band appeared as a highlight of the "Assault Demo" magazine Rock Brigade (with the right to interview) and was also highly praised in the "Garage Demos" Roadie Crew magazine, with particular emphasis on two publications for the performance Vocalist Andre Sauer, and emphasized the commercial potential of the band. Besides these great reviews, the band was also praised in independent sites and in the magazine and then guitarist John Valhalla Milliet figured in an interview in Guitar Player magazine. The Avantgarde is not afraid to dare for the quality, and in the middle of 2005 joins the band vocalist Marina Latorraca (Synnoveriem). With his vocals extremely powerful and versatile, it fits like a glove in the band's sound, emphasizing further the musical influences of the Avantgarde own and doing very interesting vocal duets with Andre Sauer. This acquisition is innovative, since the public has more contact with duets as they are made in Nightwish and many other bands, where there is a man with a guttural voice and a woman singing in a lyrical style. Most songs are split between the Avantgarde vocals of Marina and Andre, and in some they sing alone, as is the case of The Sound Of Reason and Forever In Vain. In late 2005 guitarist John Milliet left the band for personal reasons. The current lineup features the Avantgarde Andre Sauer (vocals, keyboards), La Marina Torraca (vocals), Luiz Portinari (guitar and backing vocals), Renato Suguiyama (guitar and backing vocals) and Renato Canciani (bass).
