AINUR

Genre(s): Black Metal

Formed in Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro - 2006. The Ainur were the primitive spirits who once sang the most wonderful song until the present, and from which the world raised in its first untouched shape. They were the multiple, the synthesis between those who worked for the evolution of the world and the welfare of its newly arrived inhabitants and the ones whose only thoughts were to achieve a higher level of power, thus making everything else an expression of their dominion. As the story behind its name, the band’s sound is a synthesis; a blend between harmony, melody and feeling in one side, and aggression, relentless speed and frantic growling on the other. Nonetheless, if the first elements are for the good and the latter for the evil, we chose to privilege evil. Every tune and groove are thought to bear the sensations of rage, despair and dismay, as we speak of the humane, and void, greatness and helplessness, as we step on the grounds of the cosmic fields. The lyrics do not support any kind of religion-made supernatural being. This includes any manifestation of a creature called God, and its necessary counterpart, Satan, or any kind of personalized evil trusted to be a demon. There is no god, and so there is no demon. In fact, there is zero importance to all universal life if there is or there is not one or more gods. All events in the Cosmos could do without these metaphysical concepts. And these are the beliefs that we want our lyrics to spread. The human condition, and its relation with the idea of god, as well as the human life understood as a single event in the cosmic perspective. And so, carrying those ideas and imbued with the will of creating a brutal kind of black metal, Ainur was conceived in late 2006, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The band’s arrival on stages happened in 2007, and since then plenty of gigs were performed. In 2008, Ainur released its debut recording, “Ascendance”, which is formed by three marchs of never-ending brutality and ferocity. In 2009, Ainur had the honor of playing along with Otargos, between several other great Brazilian acts in Rio de Janeiro’s extreme metal festival Aliança Negra. In 2010, the band has plans to release a brand new EP, containing some of the new tunes recently composed.
